MISTRAL supports the initiative of two major research entities to boost the development of the maritime economy in Greece
Under the auspices of the Region of Attica, the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (a MISTRAL partner) and the Technical Chamber of Greece announced the BLUE prototype initiative, which is a support programme for Greek startups and innovative business ideas related to Blue Growth.
The Blue Prototype is funded by MISTRAL and aspires to support as many innovative ideas as possible in order to develop entrepreneurial skills and build sustainable businesses for a competitive maritime economy in the Mediterranean area.
For this reason, the HCMR defined research and technological challenges with a high innovation potential for the national maritime economy and identified good practices that fully exploit this potential.
Within this framework, the Blue Prototype initiative seeks innovative business ideas for products and services in the following categories:
- Marine Aquaculture and Small Scale Fisheries
- Marine Biotechnology
- Coastal and Maritime Tourism
- Marine Renewable Energy
- Maritime Surveillance
The teams that will present the highest scores will be asked to present their proposals to the international roadshow organized by MISTRAL, which will be held in May 2020 in France.
Interested parties from Greece are invited to submit their proposals by December 31, 2019 at prototype.tee.gr, while the competition is open and free of charge.
